The F1 Visa
- (student visas) allows you to enter the United States as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, seminary, academic high school, elementary school, or other academic institution or in a language training program. The academic institution, or school that you attend must be authorized by the United State Government to accept international students and you must be enrolled in a course of study that concludes in a degree, diploma, or certificate. Additionally, F1 Visas for Students may not work off campus during the first academic year. But may accept on-campus employment subject to certain restrictions.
The J1 Visa
- The J1 visa which is known as the exchange visitors visa, is for those who have the intent to participate in an approved program for the purpose of teaching, instructing or lecturing, studying, consulting, receiving training or going through graduate medical education or training. In regards to the responsibilities of the Exchange Vistor Program, the Department of State designates an entity (public or private) to act as sponsors, and J1 non immigrants are therefore sponsored by an exchange program that promotes the interchange or persons, knowledge, and skills, in education, arts and sciences. These programs are also designated as such by the US Department of State.
The M1 Visa
- An M1 Visa is a temporary student visa that allows international students to attend an accredited vocational or non-academic school, such as a trade school or practical training school. International students wishing to enroll in academic study or English language studies may be able to apply for an F1 Visa.
